Fundamental Pediatric Intensive Care Course Course


This is a 2 day course with workshop aiming at enlightening the delegates with fundamentals of Pediatric Critical Care .This is conducted by experienced faculty from all parts of India and is headed by National Convener of the Course Dr. Rajiv Uttam and Dr Anjul Dayal. The course is meant for post graduate students, fellows undergoing Pediatric intensive care training, professors at medical college and private practitioners. The workshop has 3 parts, first part consisting of lectures of various emergency scenarios like recognition of critically ill child, setting up of ventilator, neurological emergencies, transport of critical ill child and also touches on the important topics like antibiotics in PICU, fluid management and blood transfusion. Videos of various PICU procedures like intubation, central line insertion, intraosseous insertion and central line insertion are shown to the delegates.

Second session consists of hands on training about intubation using rapid sequence intubation, central line insertion using mannikins, setting up of ventilator, NIV and HFNC. Third session consists of interactive session on ABG analysis, Hemodynamic monitoring in PICU and also case-based interaction on neurological cases, cardiac emergencies, shock cases, difficult ventilation scenarios.

Delegates have appreciated the format of the workshop and the interactive sessions and hands on training. The FPICC manual(updated in 2018) is given to all registered delegate and regular feed backs are collected from delegates for on going improvement. A test consisting of multiple choice questions is given to delegates at the end of course followed by distribution of certificates to the delegates.
